Marc van der Zwet paints with oil paint on panel. He sculpts his oeuvre from color, light, texture and shape. The search for tranquility and the play of light and shadow are central. Nature is a source of inspiration. ‘I play with the unpredictable. You start with an idea, and in the end it turns out differently. It is a journey of discovery on a tiny surface. In my work, coincidence is important. I often find the suggestion more interesting than the actual representation. Humor makes my work lighter.’
